Fun Factoid about Montessori
Maria Montessori was born in 1870 in Chiaravalle, Italy. She moved to Rome when she was young and attended local schools, which were standardized and regimented. When she graduated, she studied engineering, which was a trailblazing move for a woman at the time.
Her parents wanted her to teach, but Maria Montessori wanted to go to medical school. At the time, it was an all-male profession and Maria was refused admission. Instead, in 1890, she enrolled at the University of Rome to study physics, math, and natural sciences. After that, she became one of the first women in Italy to study medicine at the University of Rome.

Our Kindergartners act as positive role models for their younger classmates, assuming responsibility that will further reinforce their own capabilities and self-esteem. Everything that children have learned during the Preschool years comes together in Kindergarten, giving children a readiness to meet and explore new challenges. The Kindergarten curriculum strongly focuses on literacy, math, and skills necessary for elementary school such as penmanship, completion of assignments, as well as self-organization. Enrichment activities such as art, music, movement and stage performances, and oral presentations round out the Kindergarten experience, as well. In addition, our Kindergarten class is included within the structure of the Spanish Language Program.
The Montessori certified and trained teachers provide children with education that helps them to achieve academic success to reach their full potential. Montessori is an educational approach grounded in the belief that children learn best within an environment that respects and nurtures their individual and unique capabilities and this school provides them exactly that. If you’re in Fremont, please stop by our Niles Fremont campus for a campus tour, whether you’re looking for preschool, kindergarten, daycare, or childcare.
