Let’s face facts here. It’s no good burying your head in the sand. California is struggling with its public schools, even in the generally excellent Danville / San Ramon School District. Yes, Danville has some excellent kindergartens that are public, but the hours are few and far between and the staff is a bit overwhelmed. That’s why many parents choose private Danville kindergartens like ours. So it’s not so much the quality of the education here in Danville; it’s the hours of operation that cause parental distress.
As a parent, you obviously want the very best education for your child. That’s only to be expected. This is probably why, if you are a two-parent family, both of you go to work in order to make as much money as possible to provide the best education that you can get for your child, among other things. If you are a single parent family, you probably don’t have any choice: you have to work in order to put food on the table.
All of which puts a strain on you. You have to go to work, but how do you manage dropping your child off and picking him or her up again with public school hours as they are, when your employer wants you at work at those times? And how do you manage when those same schools close down for weeks on end in the summer? Certainly, education at public schools is free which is a big advantage. However, it is about the only advantage, which is why so many parents prefer Danville kindergartens like ours at Learn And Play Montessori.
And, Of Course, We Use The Montessori Method
That, and of course, the fact that we do use the Montessori method of education. Alongside the hours, that is the biggest advantage for your child. (And, by the way, we open at 7.00 am and don’t close until 6.30 pm, and we don’t close in the summer: we’re open all year round, so we are absolutely ideal for working parents).
As the best of the Danville kindergartens, we follow the Montessori method of education to the letter. All of our teachers are Montessori trained and qualified. Our Danville campus is in a Tudor cottage style and has eight large classrooms and a huge playground which is divided up into age groups, and provides a safe area for children to have fun and explore the world of nature right on their doorstep.
All of the classrooms are filled with top quality Montessori materials from which each child can choose. Yes – the child chooses what to look at and what to learn about, so automatically chooses something which interests him or her. If you think about it, when you are learning about something that interests you, you simply want to find out more about it, and that is why the Montessori method works so well. It instills a lifetime love of learning into every child.
