Many parents have gone from driving to the office every day, or commuting on public transport, to working from home as a result of Covid-19. It’s quite understandable and it makes a lot of sense if you have a job that you can do from the comfort of your home.
It does away with the two-hour daily commute which, after all, is just two hours wasted, when you could be doing something else. It saves on the cost of gas or train/bus fares. And you don’t have to mingle with other people whom you may not like all that much. On the other side of the coin there may well be people you worked with whom you miss chatting to, but today we have Zoom and many people are using that in order to keep in contact with their office, hold meetings, and more.
There is also Google Drive, Skype, and, of course, emails. You may often have sent emails to one another when actually physically in the office rather than running up and down stairs, so it’s no different, except that you might be 20 or 30 miles away from the office.
So now you are in a situation where you are working virtually, but in many cases achieving the same or even better results for your company. What’s not to like? A lot of those offices are going to be empty for many years to come because Covid-19 has had an instant and dramatic effect on the way we live and work.
What About The Kids?
But what about your kid or kids? What about their preschool?
Well, at Learn And Play Montessori we have the answer – in more ways than one! We can now offer your child our virtual preschool with classes online. We also have our own YouTube channel where your kids can log on and learn: some of the teaching is free, as well!
Yes, learning online is different from being in the class, but at Learn And Play Montessori we have you covered all ways. All of our seven campuses in the East Bay – five in Fremont, one in Dublin, and one in Danville – are all open for face-to-face learning as well. So you can choose virtual preschool for your child or face-to-face.
It actually gets even better, because at Learn And Play Montessori you can choose to have a blend of both. That’s right! You can bring your child to one of our campuses for some of the classes and use our virtual preschool at other times when it suits you.
That is what we are here for. Covid-19 may well have changed how we do some things, but we are certainly not going to let it interrupt your child’s essential education.
